Growing up in the state of Iowa, I always had dreams to "spread my wings." This ambition led me to the University of Colorado in Boulder where I studied Computer Science for my Bachelor's degree. During my studies at CU Boulder, I joined the Space Minor, this is where I was first introduced to Astronomy. I took courses that I would never have thought that I would have been taking, but I loved every second of it. My professors informed me about upcoming internships that were opening at NASA. I put in an immense amount of effort and it paid off, I got an internship at Johnson Space Center for Computer Science. This internship led me to my mentor, who attended Texas A&M University. After talking with him, I was set on where I wanted to study for my Master's degree in Computer Engineering. Texas A&M has been more than I ever could have imagined; my main goal of my Master's degree was to find a topic that I was interested in so that I could go for a PhD. During my second semester here at Texas A&M, I took an Augmented Reality course, this course sparked a flame inside of me and I was ecstatic during the course; this is where I ended up meeting my research professor. Now, I am performing research with Mixed Reality in a few different research projects. As I finish my Master's degree, I plan on continuing my studies at Texas A&M for my PhD. degree in Computer Engineering with a focus on Mixed Reality.
