ABOUT ME

INTERESTS

Originally from Iowa, I began my academic journey at the University of Colorado Boulder, where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. While there, I enrolled in the Space Minor program, which introduced me to the field of astronomy and broadened my academic interests. Through this program, I learned about internship opportunities at NASA and, after a competitive application process, secured a position at the Johnson Space Center as a Computer Science intern.

During my time at NASA, I was mentored by an engineer who had studied at Texas A&M University. His guidance played a significant role in my decision to pursue graduate studies at Texas A&M, where I earned a Master of Engineering in Computer Engineering. Early in the program, I enrolled in an Augmented Reality course that strongly aligned with my interests and led me to connect with my current research advisor.

I am now pursuing a Ph.D. in Visual Computing and Interactive Media at Texas A&M University, conducting research in extended reality with a focus on real-time interaction, feedback systems, and human-centered design. My work focuses on advancing extended reality systems that support real-time feedback and interaction, with applications in precision tasks and remote physical guidance.
